This association is a non-profit organisation governed by the Act of 1 July 1901 and the Decree of 16 August 1901 of French law, whose purpose is to promote and develop ethnoecology, in particular through the publication and distribution of scientific works.
The association was founded on 5 March 2026 in Paris.
Published in the Official Journal on 17 March 2026.
Its president is Prof. Serge Bahuchet,
Its secretary is Romain Duda,
And its treasurer is Vincent Battesti.

The purpose of the Société d’ethnoécologie association is to support, promote and develop ethnoecology, in particular through the publication and distribution of scientific works. The association is the owner and publisher of the journal Revue d’ethnoécologie as well as any other publication it may decide to create or acquire. More generally, it undertakes any action contributing to the production, transmission and promotion of knowledge in this scientific field. Its duration is unlimited.
