 Convening
General assembly of the new federative association of anthropology (in France)

Organised by the Comité de liaison et de travail de l’anthropologie en France (CLETAF, Liaison and work committee of anthropology in France)

The CLETAF, set up by Assises de l’anthropologie et de l’ethnologie en France (Dec. 2007) to prepare for the establishment of a new umbrella association of anthropology (in France) and provide a founding congress, decided to convene a General constituent Assembly of the new Association:

Saturday, January 17th, 2009
9:00 am – 12:30 am
Theater of EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales)
105, bd Raspail – 75006 Paris (France)

The Assembly will aim to establish the new association:

  • To adopt permanently its name and statutes,
  • To elect its board,
  • To establish working groups and networks,
  • To fix the principle and the modalities to organize its first congress.

In a period where this science is threatened and where each of anthropologists is facing some complex choices, this new association aims to allow anthropologists both individuals as associations of anthropology, to gather our forces, to exchange experiences and to reaffirm the importance of our discipline in our contemporary public debates.

This assembly is open to everybody interested in the anthropology and ethnology (in France).
All welcome!
