The al-‘Ulā Anthropological Survey project, under the scientific direction of Vincent Battesti and financially managed by the CNRS, is seeking specialized translation proposals for its book currently in progress.
Book in progress: The oasis of al-‘Ulā between two waves of change

 Languages for translation:

  • On the one hand, from French to English,
  • On the other hand, from French to Arabic.

 Required translation specialization:
Social sciences text (of academic quality), with ecological and agronomic dimensions as well.

 Object of the translation:
A book of approximately 320 pages, totaling one million characters (including spaces).
This richly illustrated book aims to be a scientific synthesis accessible to the general public, focusing on the recent evolution and current situation of the al-‘Ulā oasis in Saudi Arabia.
This collective work, originating from the al-‘Ulā AS project, comprehensively and accessibly covers all the themes addressed by the project, from social structure to the environment. It will present them as a reference material of scientific level, but in a synthesized, accessible, and illustrated format.

 Requirements:
Meticulous, flawless work of academic level.
