Of course, I already visited these Egyptian oases, but they will become a real fieldwork of research for me from 2016, when I will start to work along teams of archaeologists and historians brought together by the Crisis project (ANR): Imperial and provincial responses to environmental and economic challenges on Rome’s frontier in the Egyptian desert (First-Sixth c. AD), ANR project leaded by Gaëlle Tallet.
